EasyCatalog, published by 65bit Software, links your product data — Excel, CSV, Google Sheets, XML, SQL — directly to your Adobe InDesign documents. No more copy/paste: the document builds itself, checks itself and “updates automatically, with no scripting or programming”*.
And because a successful catalog starts with clean data, I have developed the easy-catalog.fr tools: validate, transform, transpose and compare your files before handing them to EasyCatalog — free assistant, open demo, and no data ever leaves your browser.
Here: the tools, the software, and an expert to train and support you.
The reference plugin for database publishing in InDesign: catalogs, directories, brochures, leaflets, product sheets, labels, guides…

Automate repetitive tasks. The document is filled from your data, no more copy/paste.

Document integrity is checked automatically: every displayed value matches the source data.

A price changes the day before printing? The document updates automatically.

“Excel, CSV, Google Sheets, XML, SQL: connect your sources without writing a line of code.”*

Your Excel, CSV or TXT files are never ready on the first try: merged headers, empty columns, stray rows, data to transpose… These tools prepare them for EasyCatalog, right in your browser.

All processing happens on your own machine: no product data is ever sent to a server. Only the (optional) AI assistant transmits an anonymised diagnosis — column names, never the contents of your cells.
Submit your file: an EasyCatalog compatibility diagnosis, a score out of 10 and a recommended correction path, tool by tool.
Headers, duplicates, empty rows, merged cells, formulas, EasyCatalog key: each check comes with its one-click fix.
Rename columns, add calculated fields, build your EasyCatalog key — without ever altering your data.
Pool columns by variation (languages, faces, USPs…): one source row becomes N rows ready for your templates.
New data delivery? Compare it to the reference: columns removed, renamed, added — and reconcile them.
Group and order your records by hierarchy (family › range › product) to prepare the flatplan.
Save a workflow's complete configuration and replay it on the next delivery: same fixes, zero rework.
Check an EasyCatalog Lua script before InDesign: unclosed blocks, unknown methods, documented pitfalls, encoding — without ever running it.
Try a regular expression on your real data: matched rows, captures, replacement preview, a safeguard against overly costly patterns.
The end-to-end journey: Assistant → Validation → Transformation → Transposition → Comparison → Views → Templates, plus the Lua and Regex benches, on a single file.
From one mascot to the next, the data is analysed, validated, transformed and then ready for EasyCatalog.

The duo that prepares 90% of files: checks and corrections, then renaming, calculated fields and the EasyCatalog key.
1 credit = 1 question to the AI assistant, with no account or key to manage — the balance is shown in the tool. Your cells are never transmitted, only the diagnosis and the column names. Purchase with the same e-mail as your access code.
Optional AI assistant: prepaid credit packs, debited on actual use — your cells are never transmitted, only the diagnosis. The one-shot is a single-use code, permanently tied to the first file imported (only its anonymous fingerprint is transmitted, never its content): re-exports of that same file are free for 30 days. The questions that come up most often before getting started.
Ten video demonstrations on real projects — a wine merchant’s leaflet, a toy catalogue, labels with barcodes, a three-hundred-page guide built against the clock. They are commented in French, and they show what goes wrong as much as what works.
EasyCatalog messages almost always state something precise about the data or the document, and knowing which module issues them points the diagnosis in the right direction. The page EasyCatalog error messages (in French) gathers the most frequent ones: the exact wording as it appears, what it really states, the move that clears it, and the trap that brings it back.
Three entry points, none of them binding: understand how the plug-in works on the page What is EasyCatalog?; have one of your files diagnosed with the free assistant, which tells you within seconds whether your data is usable; and download the 30-day trial, complete and unrestricted. The training becomes useful once a real project has been identified — not before.
Yes. The data preparation tools are independent of the plug-in: they work on your Excel, CSV or TXT files and produce a clean file. Many people use them precisely before purchasing EasyCatalog, to check that their exports will hold up.
Yes, in two ways. The assistant is free with no usage limit: it diagnoses a file and suggests a correction path. The demo runs the real processing on 10 lines, with no sign-up. Beyond that, the plans are detailed in the pricing table.
Yes. Remote work knows no geographical limit, and on-site work takes place in France as well as internationally — this is already the case for some projects. The starting point is the same: contact@easy-catalog.fr or +33 6 01 79 83 77, with a description of the project and the deadline.
Yes, that is the purpose of the local installation: the tools are installed on your workstation or your network, with no calls to the outside at all. This plan is intended for organizations whose internal policy prohibits the use of a hosted service. Note that even online, file processing stays local to the browser: nothing is uploaded.
Generate every variation of your pictograms from an SVG template: colors, embedded text, font, size… Each variation is accessible through a simple parameterized URL, easy to remember and share.
Since the pictos are served by URL, EasyCatalog places them automatically in your InDesign documents: one column of URLs in your data, and each product sheet gets the right picto, in the right variation.
