EasyCatalog Downloads and Compatibility
EasyCatalog is published by 65bit Software. The question that costs the most time is not finding the installer but choosing the right version: each version of EasyCatalog is tied to a version of InDesign. This page gives the correspondence, then the official links.
1. Identify your InDesign version
In InDesign, the “About” menu shows the version. Note the year-based version number (2024, 2025, 2026…) and, if you are on 2021, the detailed number: it is the only release year where the distinction matters.
2. Choose the matching EasyCatalog version
The rule is simple: EasyCatalog's major version number follows InDesign's internal version number. InDesign 2026 is version 21, EasyCatalog 2026 is 21.x; InDesign 2024 is version 19, EasyCatalog 2024 is 19.x. A version of EasyCatalog cannot be installed in a version of InDesign older or newer than its own.

The InDesign 2021 trap
It is the only release year with two EasyCatalog versions. If your InDesign is 16.3 or later, take EasyCatalog 2021.3 (16.3.0). If it is 16.0, 16.1 or 16.2, take EasyCatalog 2021 (16.0.1). The other way round does not work. Check the detailed version number before downloading.
3. Full or Reader: which one do you need
Full EasyCatalog
The database publishing plug-in. It links the document to its source, fills the layout, updates and checks. This is what you need to produce a catalog. Free 30-day trial, with no feature restrictions.
EasyCatalog Reader
Free and permanent. It lets you open and edit an EasyCatalog document while preserving its field markers and data — useful for a service provider, studio or printer receiving a file. Updating the data from the source, however, requires the full license.
In practice: the layout artist building the catalog needs the full version; a partner who only works on the final layout can use the Reader without breaking the link to the data. It is the right reflex to prevent a file from coming back altered after an external round trip.

6. Before you install: prepare the ground
The trial lasts 30 days. Wasting it on cleaning up an export would be a shame: use it to test the plug-in on a file that is already clean. The free assistant diagnoses your file in a few seconds and tells you what to fix before importing; the data preparation tools make those corrections. Reaching the first import with a verified unique identifier and a file free of merged cells and formulas completely changes the impression the trial leaves.

Which EasyCatalog version for my InDesign?

I have InDesign 2021, which one should I choose?
